House Destroyed By Fire In West Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No one was hurt in a fire that destroyed a house in west Nashville on Wednesday morning.

The two-story home was engulfed in flames when firefighters got on scene on Georgia Avenue around 6 a.m. Heavy smoke could be seen from miles away.

Police officers were the one who called it in to the fire department.

Two people were inside the home when the fire broke out. One suffered smoke inhalation, but did not want to be taken to the hospital.

Sky5 HD showed firefighters on the roof working to cut a hole for ventilation with white smoke coming from the home. It appeared at least one car next to the home was destroyed by the blaze.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
