Police: Woman Had Children With Her When She Passed Out Drunk In Car
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman was arrested after she allegedly passed out drunk in her car with her two young children.
A police affidavit said they found 26-year-old Andrea Sweeney passed out in her broken down vehicle along the side of Cliff Drive on Sunday. Her 9-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter were found inside the car with her.
Sweeney was allegedly in the backseat sleeping with her daughter, and officers said she had a can of beer next to her.
Her son, who was in the driver’s seat, told officers they had run out of gas, his mom was tired, and they had been there a long time.
Police woke Sweeney up, and said she struggled to get out of the vehicle. She told police she had been drinking all day and was trying to make it to a gas station when her car ran out of gas.
Sweeney was arrested and charged with two counts of child neglect, DUI, and implied consent. Her bond was set at $13,000.
