Wrong Way Driver Charged With DUI
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Officers used spike strips to stop a wrong way driver and arrest her on DUI charges overnight.
Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, officers spotted Jacqueline Connor driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Briley Parkway near County Hospital Road. She was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed and refused to stop when officers tried to pull her over.
Eventually, they laid down spike strips and she was stopped near Opry Mills.
Officers said she smelled strongly of alcohol and was unsteady on her feet. Connor allegedly admitted to drinking six or seven beers prior to getting behind the wheel.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Connor was taken into custody and charged with DUI and violation of implied consent.
