Police Say Drunk Man Assaulted Arresting Officers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man allegedly assaulted two Metropolitan Nashville Police Officers who tried to stop him from getting behind the wheel while drunk.
Police arrested 46-year-old Ken Penix in the 2500 block of Murfreesboro Pike. Officers said he could barely walk when he tried to get inside his car and drive away.
When officers moved in to arrest him, he struck one of them in the face with his elbow and another was struck in the face. He was then taken into custody.
During the drive to jail, officers said he offered them $500 to take him home and forget about the whole thing.
Officers said he left a small bag of cocaine in the patrol car as well.
