Police Say Man Threw Car Seat With Child Still In It
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man has been charged with aggravated child endangerment after police said he threw a child seat with the child still inside.
Joseph E. Skinner, age 31, was arrested after the incident Sunday. A police affidavit said Skinner was riding in the car with his wife, the child's mother and her boyfriend when an argument broke out.
Skinner's wife, who was the driver, pulled the vehicle into a parking lot where the four began fighting. Skinner allegedly wanted the other couple along with their child out of the vehicle, so he unbuckled the car seat from the vehicle and tossed it out of the car with the child still in it.
When police arrived, the car seat was on the ground and Skinner had fled the scene.
The child suffered abrasions on his back, and was taken to Summit Medical Center for treatment.
Skinner was later arrested, and held on $80,000 bond.
