Victim Of Fatal Joelton Crash Identified
JOELTON, Tenn. – The victim of a deadly crash in Joelton has been identified.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 26-year-old Jerelle Gardner, of Springfield, was killed just before 8:30 p.m. Friday, near Jackman Road.
A witness told police Gardner was driving north on White's Creek Pike when he tried to pass another vehicle over a double yellow line. He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a minivan carrying two people.
Police said Gardner was not wearing a seatbelt and died on the scene.
The driver of the van, 49-eyar-old Dana Murray, and another passenger were not critically hurt.
Officials said alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
