JOELTON, Tenn. – The victim of a deadly crash in Joelton has been identified.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 26-year-old Jerelle Gardner, of Springfield, was killed just before 8:30 p.m. Friday, near Jackman Road.

A witness told police Gardner was driving north on White's Creek Pike when he tried to pass another vehicle over a double yellow line. He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a minivan carrying two people.

Officials said alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
