Metro Officer Involved In Accident With Greyhound Bus

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A Metro police officer was involved in an accident involving a Greyhound bus Friday night.

The accident happened behind the Greyhound bus station on 5th Avenue South and Ash Street around 8:30 p.m. 

Metro police said the officer was driving on 5th Avenue South when the bus failed to stop at the stop sign hitting his police car.  

The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical center for evaluation.  No one on the bus was injured.

A section of 5th Avenue South was closed while crews worked the scene.

No details were immediately available about what led to the accident or the officer's condition.
