Marijuana Grow Operation Found In Cookeville Apartment

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after officers discovered an indoor marijuana grow operation inside an apartment in Cookeville overnight.

Shortly after midnight, Cookeville Police received an anonymous report of illegal drug activity at the Chelsea Place Apartments on E. 10th Street.

Officers got a search warrant, and discovered the grow operation. More than 50 plants were seized along with the equipment and supplies from the grow operation.

Lee Edward Smith, age 32, was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule VI drugs with the Intent to Distribute. His bond was set at $25,000. 

Police said their investigation may result in additional charges.
