NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A pickup truck crashed into a Waffle House in the Donelson area early Thursday morning.
The truck plowed through the glass windows of the restaurant on Stewarts Ferry Pike around 3:45 a.m.
A couple of patrons and employees were inside and had to jump out of the way, but no one suffered serious injuries. At least one person suffered some cuts from the broken glass, but was not taken to the hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody and charged with DUI. A passenger in the truck took off running after the crash, and has yet to be located.
Managers told NewsChannel 5 it will be two to three days before the damage will be fixed, so they must remain closed during that time.
