Police Say Man Kidnapped, Robbed His Girlfriend
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped, assaulted, and robbed his girlfriend.
A police affidavit said the woman and her boyfriend, 30-year-old Dejuan Pittman, were dancing at a bar Saturday night when he became upset that she was dancing with another man. They went outside and she told officers he slammed her against his car while they were arguing.
The affidavit went on to say that the woman was forced into his car, and Pittman drove to the McDonald's on Lebanon Pike. When the victim got out of the car, she said Pittman handcuffed her behind her back, grabbed her from behind, and then slammed her onto the ground.
Pittman allegedly then took the handcuffs off, took her purse and drove away.
A witness saw the whole incident and corroborated the story with police.
The victim had marks on her wrists consistent with being handcuffed and a scape on her right forearm. She refused medical attention, and did not want to seek an order of protection against Pittman.
Pittman was later arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery. His bond was set at $50,000.
