Hendersonville Man Charged In Girlfriend's Stabbing
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – A Sumner County man has been arrested in Kentucky for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend.
Officials with the Hendersonville Police Department said 53-year-old Anthony G. Carpenter has been accused of stabbing his girlfriend multiple times inside her Hendersonville residence.
Police said the incident occurred just before 7 p.m. Sunday, at a residence on Monthaven Park Place.
The woman was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center when she was said to be in critical but stable condition.
Carpenter was later taken into custody at a Days Inn in Cave City, Kentucky on charges of aggravated assault and being a fugitive from justice. Police have since taken out a warrant, charging him with attempted first degree murder.
He was booked into the Barren County Jail in Kentucky. His extradition date has not yet been set.
