Report: Marquette Considering Vols' Head Coach

CREATED Mar 29, 2014

MILWAUKEE Wis. - Marquette University is considering Vols' head coach Cuonzo Martin as a possible replacement for Buzz Williams, according to sources.

According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Marquette has turned its attention to Martin in its search for a new head coach, however there has been no indication whether or not Martin would consider leaving Knoxville.

Tennessee reached the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament but was eliminated Friday by the Michigan Wolverines.

Overall, they finished the season with a 24-13 record under Martin.

Martin also coached at Missouri State University from 2008 until 2010. He was hired as the Vols' head coach on March 27, 2011.

Marquette reportedly has already had discussions with former UCLA and Pittsburgh coach Ben Howland, as well.
