NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police padlocked two downtown Nashville nightclubs as public nuisances on Friday afternoon.
The two nightclubs, Throwdown Liquid Nightclub and UV-Ultra Violet Nightclub, on 2nd Avenue North were shut down after a judge deemed them public nuisances for persistent criminal activity.
Metro Police said they had received several hundred calls on a variety of criminal issues since January 2012.
An investigation by Central Precinct officers found that they were called to the clubs for multiple issues, including fighting, drunkenness, breaches of the peace, narcotics violations and liquor & beer law violations.
The two businesses will remain shut down until a hearing on April 4. The owners and operators have been barred from entering the businesses pending the court hearings.
