Murfreesboro Residents Displaced By Fire
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – At least four residents have been displaced after a fire broke out inside a home in Rutherford County.
Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department said the fire was reported just before 2:30 Thursday afternoon at a triplex on South Bilbro Drive in Murfreesboro.
Fire crews said smoke was visible when they arrived on the scene. Only one unit inside the home was damaged in the fire.
Investigators said the fire appeared to have started outside the home and somehow spread to the outside siding.
"Crews had to cut a hole in the roof for attic access, but were able to put a quick stop on the fire," said Shift Commander Dale Maynard.
No one was injured as a result of the blaze.
The American Red Cross has been called in to assist those affected. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
