Franklin High School Band Receives Governor's Cup
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Franklin High School Marching Band got all dressed up in their uniforms Wednesday and made their way to the steps of the State Capitol to meet with the Governor Bill Haslam.
Each year the governor recognizes the winner of the Contest of Champions held at Middle Tennessee State University.
The Franklin High School Marching Band won top honor with their show, "Out of Darkness." It's an award that only comes with a lot of hard work.
"I think this year's group of kids, it's kind of a young band actually, and they are the kind of kids that rise to the occasion. Something may be weird to them at first but when it really counts they are able to pull through and do a good job when they are suppose to," said Franklin High Band Director David Aydelott.
This was the second year in a row for the Franklin High School Marching Band to win the Governor's Cup.
Congratulations to everyone for a job well done!
