Suspect Arrested Due To Improperly Displayed Tags
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect wanted for larceny was arrested after being pulled over for having an improperly displayed license plate.
Authorities said 57-year-old David Burton was driving on Dickerson Pike when he was pulled over by an officer with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
When the officer discovered Burton had outstanding felony warrants out for his arrest on a larceny charge in Franklin, he asked him to get out of the car.
As Burton exited the vehicle, the officer saw a glass pipe fall from his pants, which prompted a search of the vehicle.
The officer found several bottles of prescription medication that appeared to have been stolen. Another officer was sent to the address listed on the medications. The resident told police his home had been burglarized and the medication was stolen.
Burton was then taken into custody and charged with aggravated burglary. He was being held at the Metro jail. Bond was set at $10,000.
Officials said Burton had previous convictions for aggravated burglary, armed robbery, theft, evading arrest and cocaine possession.
