Police: Woman Broke Into Apartment Because She Was Hungry
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said a woman admitted to breaking into an apartment in south Nashville because she was hungry.
Melody Earls, age 26, was charged with aggravated burglary and vandalism.
An affidavit said officers were called to a break-in at the 1000 block of Thompson Place. When they got on the scene, they found an apartment door that had been kicked in.
Inside the apartment, they found Earls, who told officers she broke in to "get some popcorn because she was hungry," according to the affidavit.
Police said she also threatened to shoot the apartment building manager when he showed up. A box of ammunition was in plain view inside the apartment.
Earls was booked into the Metro Jail on $30,000 bond.
