Police Arrest Trio After Woman Sets Up Man To Be Robbed
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman and two men were arrested after police said the trio set up a man to get robbed inside a north Nashville motel room.
A police affidavit said the victim told police he and Secquoyah Smikes had come to the Econo Lodge on Brick Church Pike on Sunday night. The victim said there was a knock at the door and he went to see who it was.
When he looked through the peephole, he saw two men outside. He recognized one of them as as Smikes' ex-boyfriend, who Smikes said was known for robbing people.
He refused to open the door, and the two men forced their way inside. They allegedly assaulted the victim, who suffered scratches and cuts.
The victim was able to get away and lock himself inside the bathroom.
During the investigation, police said they learned Smikes was a co-conspirator who had helped set up the attempted robbery. She told officers that the plan was to wait for the victim to get naked and then she was going to let the two men in the room so they could rob him.
Smikes along with Demontise Drumwright and Keiahtee Terrell were arrested. All three were charged with robbery and aggravated burglary.
Police said they also stole the man's car keys when he was in the bathroom, and had planned to take the victim's car after police left the scene.
