Clarksville Man Charged With Animal Cruelty
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A Montgomery County man has been charged with animal cruelty after a horse was found hanging from a tree on his property.
Officials with the Clarksville Police Department said 62-year-old Timothy Decent was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after officers found a dead foal hanging from a tree at his Whitfield Road residence.
On Thursday, an Agricultural Agent with the University of Tennessee in Montgomery County said another horse on the property was found in poor condition.
The suspect told police the foal died for unknown reasons and he hung it on the tree in an attempt to preserve the horse's hide. He said he later forgot about it.
Investigators said Decent was also charged with Animal Cruelty in November of 2012.
Bond was set at $10,000.
