FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The wintry weather has been blamed for a multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Williamson County.

Officials with the Franklin Police Department said the initial crash happened around 7 p.m. Sunday on I-65 in Franklin.

Officers were assisting the driver involved in the crash when a car hydroplaned and collided with two Franklin Police cruisers. Police said both crashes were weather related.

"Right now we're having pools of water," Sgt. Brian Woodward with the Franklin Police Department. "We're urging everyone to slow down and be cautious."

One officer was transported to Williamson Medical Center with neck pain. Police said he is expected to make a full recovery.

No one else was injured in the collision.
