Police: Shooting Victims Were In Romantic Relationship
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man and woman killed in separate shootings earlier this week had a romantic relationship, according to Metro Police.
However, police said they don't know if 26-year-old Gregory Johnson and 19-year-old Daresha Cole were still involved when they died.
Investigators said earlier this week that they believed the shootings were connected, but have not released any information about possible suspects or motives in the killings.
Johnson was shot Sunday night on Joseph Avenue. He then drove his car through the fence at the Salvation Army on Dickerson Pike, and slammed into a concrete wall.
Around 2 a.m. Monday, police got a call about a shooting on Chesapeake Circle. When they showed up, they found the body of Cole inside her teal PT Cruiser. She had been shot several times.
Police also said a vehicle similar to the description of Cole's PT Cruiser was seen in the vicinity of Joseph Avenue and Grace Street around the time Johnson was shot.
Anyone with information on the shootings were asked to call Crime Stoppers at (615)74-CRIME. Tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers by texting the word "CASH" along with the message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com.
