86-Year-Old Woman Dies From Injuries Sustained In Crash
SMYRNA, Tenn. – An 86-year-old woman has passed away from her injuries following a weekend crash in Smyrna.
Smyrna Police said Lottie Hunter died at a hospital on Tuesday following the crash.
Hunter was driving a Chevrolet Aveo when she struck a Chevrolet Cruze at the intersection of West Sam Ridley Parkway and Motlow College Boulevard around 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Police said Hunter failed to stop at the red light before the collision.
The driver and passenger of the Cruze, identified as 55-year-olds Leonard and Diane Moore, were also injured and taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was unknown.
Police said this was the first motor vehicle fatality for 2014 in Smyrna.
