Inmate Attacks Correctional Officer With Handcuffs
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A correctional officer was sent to the hospital after an inmate attacked her with handcuffs.
It happened at the Davidson County Correctional Facility in the medical exam room. An affidavit said inmate Kathy Towles was about to be handcuffed when she decided to lunge at the correctional officer.
They fell to the ground, and Towles allegedly began hitting and kicking the officer in the face.
She got a hold of the same handcuffs she was about to be restrained with, and started beating the officer with them, yelling "I'm going to break your neck."
The officer was sent to the hospital with a concussion and cuts on her hands.
Towles was charged with aggravated assault of an officer with a deadly weapon.
