Two Injured In I-40 Crash In Wilson County
WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. – Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 40 in Wilson County.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash occurred near mile marker 228 on I-40 eastbound.
Troopers said 19-year-old Kaitlin Lamastus was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile Delta 88 when she lost control of the vehicle and drove through the guardrail. The car flipped multiple times before coming to a rest at the bottom of a ravine.
A passenger in the vehicle, 18-year-old Evan Hopper, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by Vanderbilt LifeFlight. Lamastus was transported by ambulance to TriStar Summit Hospital.
Lamastus was charged with DUI, vehicle assault, and underage consumption.
