Mt. Juliet Gas Station Robbery Suspect Arrested

MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A suspect wanted in connection with an early morning gas station robbery in Mt. Juliet has been arrested.

Officials with the Mt. Juliet Police Department said the 24-year-old Zachary Phillips, of Hendersonville, was arrested Friday and charged with Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Theft of Property. He has been accused of robbing the Daily's convenience store, located on North Mt. Juliet Road.

Police said the robbery occurred just after 1 a.m. Friday. They said the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint.

According to police, the suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended on Interstate 40. A black replica BB handgun was said to have been found inside the suspect's car, and investigators said he later confessed to the robbery.

Phillips has been booked into the Wilson County jail on $40,000 bond. His court date has been scheduled for April 24.
