New Luxury Hotel Set To Open At Fontanel, Resort Is Planned

WHITES CREEK, Tenn. - A new luxury hotel is set to open this week at Fontanel, and the property's owners have plans to build a resort next to Barbara Mandrell's former mansion.
The Inn at Fontanel will go inside the former Southern Living magazine Idea Home. It closed at the end of December and the transformation started shortly after.
"It's not exact, but I tried my very best to keep the integrity of the house," explained Kellie Lapelle, director of guest services at Fontanel.
The luxury boutique will have six rooms, each with its own design.
"We've had to fill all five buildings with new furniture and all the accessories. It's taken quite a team out here to put it together, but we're getting there," Lapelle said.
The Southern Living Idea Home was very popular for six months and every effort was made to recreate the interior design for the hotel.
The inn opens on Friday, February 7th and rooms will start at $325. The entire hotel will be available for $3,000 per night. A heavy continental breakfast will be served each morning.
The Inn at Fontanel is just the first hotel planned for the property on White Creeks Pike.
Construction on the 140-room Fontanel: A Holiday Inn Resort will start next month. The resort will consist of three lodge-like buildings, built into the hills of the property.
"Because there's 186 acres here, every guests that checks in will be issued a golf cart. There own personal golf cart and garage, and they'll have access to the property," said Fontanel's Zan Martin.
The lodge buildings will be constructed next to Barbara Mandrell's former mansion. The log cabin structure will become part of the resort.
"There will be a very high end steak and seafood restaurant right there in the mansion. The great room will be a place where people can come gather by the fire and just enjoy time together," Martin explained.
The resort is expect to open in the Fall of 2015.
The two hotels will join several other businesses on the Fontanel property, including an Italian cafe and a distillery that opens in March.
Tours of the Fontanel mansion will continue during construction.
