One Injured After Incident With Train In Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A railroad employee has been sent to an area hospital after falling off a train in Davidson County. Witnesses said the victim was then run over.
The incident happened on the train tracks around 2 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Craighead Street and Bransford Avenue inthe Berry Hill area just south of the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
Officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department and Berry Hill Police Department reponded to the scene.
Officials said the victim was an employee with the Nashville & Eastern Railroad company.
Details about the circumstances surrounding the incident were not available, but officials said the train ran over and partially amputated the victim's leg.
The male victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for emergency treatment.
