Man Charged With Assaulting Officer During Arrest
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after injuring a Metro Nashville police officer outside a downtown Nashville bar.
A police affidavit said officers responded to 2nd Avenue North on Sunday where two men were allegedly in an altercation.
When they attempted to break things up, they advised one of the men, 25-year-old Terrence Armstrong, to stay back. He allegedly refused to do so, and continued to approach the other man involved.
As they tried to arrest Armstrong, police said he struggled with them and somehow ended up on top of one of the officers. The officer was taken to the hospital. Sources said the officer suffered a broken leg,
Armstrong was charged with assault on an officer, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. He posted his $10,000 bond, but was not immediately released because police said he was uncooperative.
