Kentucky Bracing For Snow, Ice In Latest Storm
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky is bracing for more snow in the west and ice through other parts of the state as the latest winter blast moves through the Bluegrass State.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service say Paducah and other parts of western Kentucky could see 3 to 5 inches of snow by Tuesday night as warm humid air moves north from the Gulf Coast and hits cold air that's been in place in the area.
Meteorologist John Denman in Louisville says the city could see freezing rain after 4 p.m. with a changeover to rain later in the day. But, Denman says, the area appears to be "out of the woods" for heavy ice accumulations because of the ground temperature.
Kentucky has been battered this winter by repeated blasts of subfreezing temperatures and snow.
