Alabama Man Charged In Walmart Theft Suspected In Similar Cases
LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – An Alabama man arrested in connection with a theft at a Lawrenceburg Walmart is suspected in nearly 40 other similar cases in other states.
Lawrenceburg Police charged 45-year-old Christopher Lynn Timbes, of Florence, Alabama, with felony theft and vandalism. Police said he pried open a cash register and stole cash from the Walmart in Lawrenceburg on September 12, 2013.
Timbes is suspected of opening cash registers in more than 38 stores in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana. During the crime spree that began in2011, police said Timbes took more than $50,000 from Walmart stores.
Timbes was held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
