Water Main Break Causes Delay In Downtown Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A water main break has caused a delay for commuters in downtown Nashville.
Officials with Metro Water Services said the water main break happened Friday afternoon at the corner of Rosa L Parks Avenue and Union Street. Crews have been working since noon to repair the broken main.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
Officials said they have four fully staffed repair crews that have been working around the clock with the assistance of three emergency contract crews.
Crews said they are currently working 12 active water main breaks and eight pending investigations. One of the breaks happened Friday morning on Riverside Drive, causing Metro Police Nashville to block off the roadway between Kirkland and Shelton Avenues.
Officials said they have had 119 breaks from January 1 through January 30.
