Suspect Arrested For Shoplifting Designer Sunglasses
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The suspect wanted for stealing nearly $4,000 in designer sunglasses from a CoolSprings eye store has been arrested.
Officials from the Franklin Police Department said 31-year-old Andrew Adams was identified as the suspect after surveillance images were posted on social media sites and broadcast by local media.
Adams was arrested Tuesday after a court appearance for an unrelated matter.
Video from the afternoon of January 14 showed a man steal 18 pairs of designer sunglasses during two visits to the LensCrafters in the CoolSprings Galleria in Franklin.
The sunglasses, including brands like Oakley, Ray-Ban, Tiffany, Prada, and Versace, were valued at around $4,000. It was not clear if the merchandise was recovered.
An officer from the Metro Nashville Police Department saw the image of the suspect and recognized him as a known Nashville shoplifter.
Adams was booked into jail on a charge of felony theft. He was released on $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court in Williamson County on February 4.
