Man Stabbed In The Eye After Parking Space Argument
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A Murfreesboro man has been recovering after he was violently attacked following an argument over a parking space.
Kevin Lattimore said he was attempting to park his car at his apartment complex in Murfreesboro Saturday, when he became involved in a verbal argument with two members of the maintenance staff. According to Lattimore, the two men attacked him with a knife.
Lattimore said there was an apartment complex maintenance truck in his way while he was trying to park his car. He said he waited, and then asked the man in the truck, Murtada Maen, to move so he could unload items from his car.
At that point, Lattimore said Maen, threatened to kill him and pulled out a knife.
"Here he comes around this car with the knife trying to stab me, I blocked him, his buddy came around and attacked me," he said.
Neighbors called police, the two suspects ran off and Lattimore was taken to the hospital.
On Tuesday, Lattimore was still nursing a bruised hand and torso, a cut beneath his eye, and broken glasses. He said he is lucky he survived the attack.
"I could have been laying right there in that little triangle bleeding to death," he said. "I thank god for saving me and protecting me on that one."
Murtada Maen has been charged with aggravated assault. He has since bonded out of the Rutherford County Jail. The other suspect, Carson Poindexter was never charged in connection to the incident.
