Serial Burglary Suspect In Custody
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A suspect accused of a rash of burglaries in the Nashville area has been taken into custody.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 22-year-old Montez Webster has been arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
A photo of the suspect was not immediately released.
Police said the suspect has been accused of burglarizing several homes in the Chesnut Hills area. They said a concerned citizen alerted authorities after he saw the suspect peering into windows on Pillow Street near Hamilton Avenue.
According to police, the suspect was seen was carrying a bag containing a MacBook laptop, an iPad, a Kindle and an Android tablet. The stolen property was later returned to its owners.
Investigators said Webster refused to speak to detectives. They said he has previous convictions for unlawful weapon and drug possession.
The suspect has been held in lieu of $40,000 bond.
