I-40 East Reopened In Putnam Co. After Multiple Vehicle Crash
PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. – Eastbound traffic along Interstate 40 in Putnam County has been reopened after a wreck involving multiple vehicles.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the collision was reported just after 11 a.m. Saturday, near mile marker 301. A portion of I-40 east was previously closed as a result of the crash.
Eastbound traffic had to be diverted at mile marker 290 to U.S. Highway 70 through Monterey.
The cause of the crash was not immediately available but troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said a tractor trailer jackknifed near mile marker 299.
It was not immediately clear whether or not wintry conditions contributed to the crash.
THP Officials said there were no fatal injuries reported.
