Man Killed In Industrial Accident Off Lebanon Road
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An employee of a local fence company was killed while trying to buy pipe at a wholesale supply business.
The man, identified as 36-year-old Omar Badillo, had just purchased pipe at Capitol Wholesale Fence Company on 1200 Lebanon Pike Friday around 1:45 p.m.
Officials said Badillo worked at Martinez Fence Company. They said a forklift pushed several lengths of bundled 21-foot pipe into place on the bed of a Martinez company truck.
Something happened as the forklift was pushing the load, and the pipes shifted and struck Badillo in the head.
Emergency medical teams were called in transport Badillo to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators said the incident appeared to be accidental.
