CREATED Jan 20, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – One of the many restaurants participating in Nashville Originals Restaurant Week also happens to be one of the city's oldest eateries.

"Restaurant Week" is put on by Nashville Originals, a group of locally owned restaurants and bars dedicated to promoting local businesses. The event runs from January 20 through January 26. More than 40 restaurants are participating this year. Each one is offering a special for $20.14.

One of the city's oldest and most beloved restaurants was added to the list of Nashville Originals back in December. Elliston Place Soda Shop opened in 1939 and has been happily serving patrons for more than 70 years.

This year marked the first year Elliston Place Soda Shop has participated in the event.

"I think we've got a great deal for restaurant week," said owner Skip Bibb. "With what we're offering for the price we're offering is as good as it's going to get in all of Nashville."

Restaurant week has been going on since 2008.
