Flames Through Roof Destroys Antioch Home

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A home in Antioch is a total loss after it caught fire Friday night.

Metro Nashville firefighters were called to the home at 4109 Park Trail Point before 6 p.m. That is in the Hallmark Condos area of Antioch just off Pin Oak Drive.  

When firefighters arrived flames were coming through the roof.

The homeowner,Khammany Thammavong, said he  left his home just long enough to go buy tea for his father and then received a call that his house was on fire.

"I was rushing through every light like two or three red lights to get here. It was as fast as I could but by the time I got here the whole house was on fire," said Thammavong.

Right now investigators don't know what caused the fire to start so quickly but say it all started in the back of the home.

While fighting the flames, firefighters were forced to back up when ammunition in an upstairs closet starting going off.

The homeowner's mother and two of his nieces were inside the house at the time. Everyone was able to get out without any injuries.

One side note, a fire truck heading to the scene was involved in an accident at the intersection of Antioch Pike and Haywood Lane.  Everyone was OK.
