CREATED Jan 16, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The application center for an expedited screening program for passengers opened Thursday at Nashville International Airport.

The site for TSA PreCheck applications is located to the right of the Frontier Airlines check-in counter. The program allows travelers to leave on their shoes; light outerwear and belt; keep their laptop in its case and keep liquids/gels bag in a carry-on bag.

The TSA PreCheck lanes were established at the airport in March 2013.

Passengers can go through a pre-enrollment process online at www.TSA.gov and visit an application center at the airport to provide personal information, fingerprints, and identification and pay an $85 application for a five-year membership.

Once approved, passengers will receive a Known Traveler Number, and will have the opportunity to use the designated lanes at security checkpoints at more than 100 participating airports and on nine major U.S. airlines

TSA is currently in the process of expanding to more than 300 application centers across the country.
