Chattanooga Police Arrest Man Wanted In Nashville Robbery
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man wanted for the alleged robbery of a pizza delivery man in Nashville has been arrested in Chattanooga.
Chattanooga Police arrested 18-year-old Marcus Banes Wednesday morning. Banes was wanted on outstanding warrants in Nashville for aggravated robbery in connection with the robbery on December 5.
The robbery victim told police two men approached him outside 2103 Owen Street, and demanded he get out of his vehicle at gunpoint.
Police said Banes, who was identified as the gunman, and his accomplice drove off in the victim's 2009 Pontiac Vibe after taking his wallet and iPhone.
The victim's vehicle was later recovered.
North Precinct detectives had learned Banes was staying with a friend in Chattanooga and notified local police, who took him into custody without incident.
Banes' return to Nashville is pending.
Detectives were pursuing leads in the identification and arrest of the second robber. Police were also investigating Banes' possible involvement in other similar crimes.
