NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Police arrested a man wanted for attempted murder since last year during a traffic stop early Monday morning. A second accused felon along with guns were also discovered inside the car.

Officers stopped the 2005 Chevrolet Impala at the intersection of Hillside and Argyle Avenues in West Nashville around 1:15 a.m. The car was pulled over for having a temporary tag violation.

The officers smelled marijuana. After searching the car, they seized two pistols under the seat.

Police discovered 19-year-old Deanthony Fletcher inside the car. He was wanted on an attempted murder warrant for shooting at two people on South 7th Street last November. Fletcher is also facing drug and gun possession charges.

Also taken into custody was the car's owner, 21-year-old Tervon Brittain, who has a felony marijuana conviction from last July. Brittain is now charged with felony gun possession, marijuana possession and altering a license tag.
