Police Called Out To Search For Suspect In Antioch Shooting
ANTIOCH, Tenn. – Police were called out to the Mill Creek Liquor Store in Antioch after a man showed up with an apparently gunshot wound.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. on Monday at 1664 Antioch Pike, just three blocks north of the intersection with Haywood Lane.
Details of what led to the shooting were not available, but officials said the man sustained non-life threatening injuries. The victim's identity was not released.
Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department's crime scene unit was called out to process the scene. They were processing evidence from a four-door Ford F-150 with dealer plates. Blood from the victim's injury could be seen on the side panel from an opened passenger side door.
Lakeview Elementary Design Center in Nashville was placed on a precautionary lockout while officials searched nearby for a possible suspect. It was not clear why the school was put on lockout, with the school a 10-minute drive from where police were investigating.
Officials from both the Metro Nashville Police Department and Metro Nashville Public Schools stressed the lockout was issued as a precaution.
