Bus Strikes Gate Which Then Hits Pickup Truck
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The warming trend following the arctic blast caused a crash in downtown Nashville on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. on 6th Avenue South.
Metro Police said the brakes of Greyhound bus had frozen while parked in a lot behind the bus station. As temperatures warmed past the freezing mark Wednesday, the brakes thawed and the bus rolled backwards, taking down a gate.
The gate went into the roadway, and struck a passing pickup truck. Some fluids, including antifreeze, from the truck spilled into the roadway.
No one was hurt.
