Crews Repair Water Main Breaks In Nashville

CREATED Jan 8, 2014

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Crews have been called out to fix multiple water main breaks across Nashville on Wednesday morning.

Crews were working to repair a break at Murfreesboro Pike and Lester Avenue around 8:30 a.m. Water had turned to ice along the sidewalk and on the side of the roadway due to the sub-freezing temperatures.

A wreck happened around 6 a.m. Wednesday on Thompson Lane near Nolensville Pike, where another water main break had earlier been repaired. Water runoff froze across the road after being salted.

It was unclear if anyone was injured in the crash.

Police had blocked off the area while they worked the crash.

Metro Police said the exit ramp from I-440E onto Nolensville Pike had thick slush/ice mix, and asked for a Public Works salt truck and plow.
