18-Year-Old Arrested For Attempted Carjacking
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – An 18-year-old has been accused of trying to carjack a woman's car at a parking garage in Nashville.
Officials said the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Viridian parking garage, located on Church Street.
The victim had just pulled into a parking space, when the suspect allegedly banged on her window and demanded that she get out of the car. Police said he also tried to open the door but it was locked.
Instead of cooperating, she backed out of the parking space and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
A short time later, Manuel was taken into custody at the corner of 5th Avenue South and Demonbreun Street.
Manuel was charged with attempted carjacking and aggravated trespassing. He was held in lieu of $35,000 bond.
