Jason Aldean has 21.5 million reasons to be happy

By Kellie Michaels. CREATED Aug 5, 2014

Jason Aldean is the most downloaded man in country music. That's what the good people over at the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced on Monday.

The RIAA gave Jason the honor of 'Top Digital Male Country Artist' based on Digital Single Certifications -- a system that factors in song downloads and on-demand streams.  Jason has racked up more than 21.5 million downloads and on-demand streams in his career.

Jason is pretty pumped. "This is such a huge honor, and one that everyone on my team earned together," he says in a prepared statement. "I love country music, and I wouldn't want to be doing anything else ... there was never a Plan B for me. I can't thank the RIAA or country music fans enough for helping us get to this level ... it's unbelievable!"

Jason's fast-selling latest single, "Burnin' It Down," put him over the top for the RIAA honor.
