First look As always in the preseason the play calling and scheming will be vanilla. So it's a time to evaluate the individuals, especially the young players looking to nab a roster spot. After the starters are out who will make big plays?
Position battles Safety, tight end and backup quarterback are among the positions to watch as the preseason unfolds. While depth has improved at safety the Packers will need plays to be made after getting zero interceptions from the safeties in 2013. At this time there's no one on the roster with the talent level of Jeremichael Finley so do the Packers have the right players for a tight end-by-committee approach? The backup quarterback spot is much stronger than last year so the question there is will the Packers keep two or three quarterbacks when roster cuts are made.
Health Every team goes through injuries. The ones who are successful have enough depth to overcome the injuries. However the Packers have already lost Don Barclay and Jared Abbrederis for the year so it's important the Packers come out of tonight as healthy as possible.
