GREEN BAY - Wide receiver Greg Jennings decided weeks ago to leave the team and become a Minnesota Viking as a free agent, but he has left a long list of barbs in his wake on the trip west.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was asked about those comments, some of which went so far as to question whether he has a team-first philosophy.
Rodgers would not directly address Jennings' exact words.
He responded Friday by discussing how he's "excited to be one of the leaders of this football team" and that his thoughts have to be with the men who are his teammates, not those who are no longer wearing green and gold.
"One of the lessons you learn is that you can't control everything...you worry about the opinions of your team and how they feel about you," said Rodgers.
"I have a great responsibility to the guys in this locker room...I don't have a lot of time, energy about things that are said outside the building. Those are stories for you guys, but personally, I'm focused on the team. I hear about him, but I'm not going to spend a lot of time."
