GREEN BAY - The tight end tree in training camp is full, and there are seven names on that list, including the only veteran free agent Ted Thompson brought in during the offseason.
Matthew Mulligan is a 3 year veteran of the Jets who played last year for the St. Louis Rams.
He's here to block for the run.
"It's a tremendous honor to be brought into a prestigious organization like the Green Bay Packers, to be given a chance to contribute to an already established organization, so I hope to do whatever I can to make this team better in whatever way they ask me to," said Mulligan.
"He's a very professional person, goes about his business the right way, very serious in his approach," explained Packers coach Mike McCarthy.
"He's gotten accustomed to the way we play. I think he's off to a good start."
Mulligan's ability to block up front could pave the way for a better ground game this season.
