Fight-filled Packers practice on Wednesday
GREEN BAY - It often happens in preseason training camp that football players who have practiced against each other for a couple weeks soon get tired of it, and fights break out.
That happened Wednesday morning at Packers practice.
3 brawls is 30 seconds. Francois and Van Roten; Finley in another one. Coaches call TV timeout. Fists flying. #Packers— Doug Russell (@RussellOnSports) August 7, 2013
Scrums/punches all over the place. Wow. Van Roten and Francois at it. Finley throws punch at Jarvis Reed. Sitton/Greene even talking.— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) August 7, 2013
And then Finley throws a bolo at someone who threw a punch at him. Jolly comes over and shoulder blocks Finley. Quite a melee.— Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) August 7, 2013
Testy all drill. Manning smacked Gerhart on the helmet a few plays earlier. A lot of shoving all over the place.— Tyler Dunne (@TyDunne) August 7, 2013
Fights like this at camp are typically not a sign that there's dissension among teammates - more an expression of frustrations, testiness, and a need to let aggression out.
MM. "Time to play someone else." @packers That happens Friday might vs. Az.— Wayne Larrivee (@waynelarrivee) August 7, 2013
